Bactericides are designed to prevent the growth of sulfate-reducing bacteria, and are also applicable in cases of local contamination, both of the bottom-hole zone, and oil and water storage systems and systems for maintaining pressure in the formation.

They are also used to prevent contamination of drilling fluids. Bactericides, developed by STC TOS LLP, are tertiary amines, thioazo-heterocycles.

The main advantages of bactericidal substances:

- low dosages, even if used as a primary disinfectant reagent;

- create a protective film in places of greatest bacterial growth;

- stable action over time against all types of bacteria

- planktonic type and adhesive.
